To each their own i guess. I've been in BJ's numerous times, Sam's Club a couple times, and to me there is just no comparison. Costco carries better quality merchandise.

I totally agree with that. Costco, when compared to BJs and Sam's, is by far the best.

But I wouldn't compare Costco to Walmart/Target. It's like apples and oranges.

Personally I'm pulling for the Christmas Tree Shop rumors. Now THAT's something new and exciting for the area. The nearest ones are Orange and Manchester.

There is also one in Danbury, which is closer to Waterbury than Manchester.

Really? I guessed I missed that memo since I have a Costco membership (because they have a Hearing Aid center, they have a great audiologist in Waterbury) and Sams because it's closer. And I love Walmart! I'm going there in a couple minutes actually.

I wish they'd build a Walmart Supercenter in Middletown.

I COMPLETELY agree! I LOVE COSTCO!!

I HATE Walmart. The one in Danbury is dark and gloomy. The flourescent lights cast a weird light. Also, there are ALWAYS lines and the workers there always seem like robots. The few desperate times I go in there I walk out annoyed.

Target on the other hand is bright and cheery and have FAR BETTER merchandise than Walmart.

BJS reminds me of Walmart....same vibe.

I am such a huge fan of Costco. As for whatever they are building there...I would love a HomeGoods/TJ Maxx, a Deli of some sort and a Starbucks. That would cover all the basics for me.
