Reins is good (probably the best in this part of the state), but it is not as good as a real New York Deli. JMHO Jay

Yes Reins is great- the food here is not Indiana- not By a long shot,

Somers is the extreme western part of eastern CT- great sushi in Vernon, and Italian, and Asian.

I'll second what Drifter mentioned with Rein's. It's a great NY style Deli, practially a stone's throw from Somers. Your time figures seem accurate except Providence might be a bit further. Other than that, I think you'll transition well in Somers. There's one bakery I'm familiar with in Hartford, Mazzicato's, which is for all relative purposes, on par with NY.

Hartford does have Mozzicato's- which is excellent; but also

First & Last Bakery Café (Italian-Hartford)\Not to mention the famous Carbonnes restaurant on Franklin Av also Cappricio Ristorante ; Casa Mia Ristorante Italiano. Chef Eugene Restaurant (northern Italian)

In Vernon The Lotus; landmark French-Indochinese. classy, relaxed. Also the Aqua- rated as best Seafood in Tolland county, best service and appetizers in the state by CT magazine. Martini bar,

Taj Mahal very tasty Indian in Vernon.

Manchester- Wooster Street Pizza- as good as it gets in greater Hartford for New Haven style Pizza- A pepe's opening soon in town.

Sky, I hate to break it to ya, but I think the Lotus closed. I remember because after moving to Southern CT, I went back to visit a couple friends, planning on doing the Lotus but it had closed.
