hell no.. i hate the Patriots. never wanted them here. what i didn't like was..
1. how Kraft used Hartford as leverage to get his own stadium up there.
2. big mouth Dan Shaughnesy's insults directed toward not only Hartford but us as CT residents in general (in case you forgot, he called us a bunch of yahoos as if we were Alabama north or something). i don't remember Bob Ryan feeling the need to get personal.

what it comes down to is all the New England states have their good and bad points. you can't make blanket statements such as 'CT sucks' or 'NH sucks' or 'ME sucks'. i mean really, how is CT that much different from the rest of NE? we don't have any super big cities but neither does NH, VT, ME or even RI. if anything is working against us, it is our geography.
and even though i defend CT, i don't hate on the rest of NE. heck i lived in Framingham for 6 years and i always considered it one of the best/favorite places i've ever lived. but on the other hand, i've spent most of my life in CT and love it here too if for no other reason than i consider it home and is therefore familiar.

Most CTers I know like the Giants, so to answer your question: No.

I think the state rivalry is silly. Imagine how it looks to someone from a foreign country. The states of New England, other than government, have lots of similarities. We share very similar topography and the feel of our cities is not that much different. As we approach our borders, the differences blur. Remember, borders are just "imaginary" lines, it's state government that is our biggest divider.

CT and RI are great states and both have their strengths and weaknesses - as well as many similarities.

Why don't you go down there and set up shop for a bit. Yea, we'll keep the cape though. We're still friends...no really."

Sort of like the girl you dated back in the day that you really can't look in the eye if you saw her today. LOL

But if that's all the state has to sell itself over another (and fewer potholes), then things don't look promising.
Oh brother...Yea that's it. Just money, nothing else.

I'm not even going to dignify that kind of post with a response of any thought.

You can surf in RI, like the 2nd highest unemployment rate though. RI is just the ocean extension of CT. CT beach essentially. Last time was there, bunch of Indians buying up business and turning it to like zero customer service and clean standards. It smells like a big toilet now.

I have lived in both states so actually know the differences.

RI'ers are more talkative, always a story to tell, generally much more open and friendly than CT people. CT people are more reserved without question. RI'ers don't really travel to CT or even acknowledge its existence. CT people go to RI coast for vacation, or even a day trip to "get away" and most consider South County RI a beautiful place.

CT has many more jobs than RI. Both states are liberal in politics but property taxes are worse in CT, which is saying something because they are not cheap in RI.

RI has very good schools in South County (South Kingstown, North Kingstown, East Greenwich, Charlestown, Narragansett, Richmond, Exeter) but CT has more good schools spread throughout the respective state. (of course CT has more bad schools also being a much bigger state).

Bottom line is IF you can get a job in RI than RI is a better place to be (preferably southern half - South County).

Maybe you don't, but plenty of your fellow RIers do. Just last week I drove down 95 to JFK and couldn't believe the amount of people with Rhode Island plates.

Also, anytime I go to the casino, I always seem to meet someone from RI.

That's open to debate. I'd never live in RI.

what an ignorant statement this is. How about CVS? you know the #21 largest company on the Fortune 500 list.

Typical CT - super defensive about their state so have to make up incorrect information about their neighbor state. Being the suburbs of NYC has left many CT residents with this feeling on no identity which is reflected in the widespread anti-social behavior. Pathetic.

LOL - yes, everyone in CT, all 3 million of us, are pathetic.

Gotta love it.
