He was not as accommodating of a woman who blamed the Democratic Party and illegal aliens for many of the state's problems.

"It is your party that has made Connecticut the welfare haven of the western world," the woman said. "I taught in Hartford for 15 years, and it's a no-rules, no-responsibility welfare mentality that turned Hartford from the richest city in the U.S. to the poorest."

"Are you going to stand for illegals, or are you going to stand for Americans?" the woman demanded.

Malloy has endorsed a proposal to charge in-state tuition at public colleges for all students graduating from high schools in Connecticut, regardless of immigration status.

"Are you done?" Malloy said, staring at the woman. "I'm going to stand up for children who graduate from our schools."

I can't stand the guy. He is the most arrogant, pompous, pr*ck this state has seen in a long time. He's worse than Blumenthal.

Additionally, it makes me ill that someone from Brewster New York would have to pay out of state tuition while someone living here OFF THE BOOKS from Guatemala can get in-state. It disgusts me.

My liberal brother told me he is glad he didn't vote for Malloy because even he doesn't want Malloy representing the average person with liberal views. Honestly, have we had anyone else this far left-blatantly standing up for illegals and trying to raise every tax imaginable-in CT office in the past 20-30 years? I cannot understand how this guy was chosen by the CT Democratic Party as their best candidate!

This is too, too liberal for my taste. In other words, he's rewarding those who BREAK THE LAW!

"Are you done?"

Can't disagree with you. It's a very typical response given when something is presented that doesn't line up with thier "it takes a village" ideology. I get it on here a lot myself. It's a "you're stupid, shut up sit down, we are going to do what we want anyway" mentality.

Considering he was surrounded by union plants, I'm surprised this lady got in. Maybe she used her teacher credentials to seem like "one of them."

I am not surprised, given his track record.

Btw, CA already allows illegals to pay in state tuition and MD just approved reductions for illegals too. In all likelihood this measure will pass in CT regardless of how many residents don't support it. Connecticut: a few months away from being more liberal than NY.

I think we're already there. IMO, we're worse than CA.
