I am going to buy a house and after inspection, the termite inspector told me that he found some visible trace of mice and in the basement I did see several mice traps set up by the current home owner.
Both me and my wife hate mice, and even worse the rats. However, the termite inspector told us that mice are very common in Glastonbury area, even in the very clean area where my future house is, probablly 99% of the house in south glastonbury may have/had mice. This really scared me. Is this true?
I have not heard of any unusal mice problems in Glastonbury. And I know people all over town. As noted, mice can happen anywhere. Call a different exterminator for another opinion. Jay
Right, I will call another pest control company to see what they say about it.
do you think it is necessary to go through another round of termite/pest inspection? I am just wondering if I should walk away from the new house simply because of appearance of mice
thx

so do you think it is usual finding some mice droppings during home inspection? My wife is freaked out...If what the inspector said is correct (most of the house in south glastonbury may have/had mice), we are going to continue the deal, because it is impossible to find a house without any mice trace. Otherwise, we probably will walk away.
I've never lived in Glastonbury but since I've lived in houses all over CT I figured I'd tell you that I have seen mice in 2 of my houses and I know my parents home has had mice in the past too.
Generally only in the basements though. I'd say it's fairly common. It wouldn't be a deal breaker for me unless it was an outright infestation!!
As already noted, you will find mice just about everywhere. If you walk away from this house, you'll probably have to walk away from all others, too.
