I don't travel to Manchester too often as it's 100 miles round trip for me but was there yesterday afternoon. Looks like the Highland Park Market next to Old Navy shut down. When did that happen? Did the market relocate?

That is not their Manchester store. That is the store they opened at Evergreen Walk in South Windsor and yes it did close last year. The rest of their stores are still open. That store was not in a good location for a supermarket. There are no homes nearby and those that are near require people to pass a Stop & Shop to get to it. That is not good since most people will shop at the store closest to their home unless the store is super cheap. Just the way the food market works. Anyway it is too bad that the store closed since it was really nice. I go to their Glastonbury store often and do like it a lot. I was just there yesterday. Jay

The reason that store was closed is they were suppposed to have a housing development as part of Evergreen Walk. Highland Park Market got a discounted rent until the housing was built to subsidize their lower revenue. Well, they scrapped the housing part, and raised the rent which made it unfeasable for the market to be there so they cut bait and closed it. Can't blame them.

Highland Park as far as I know is doing just fine in their other locations. It's a shame when things like that happen.

Their original store in Manchester is alive and well.
