That's definetly a factor!

Going North, absolutely. Going South, there is always a backup around Jennings road into DT. It's not horrible, but can add 10-15 minutes to the commute time. If there is an accident even on 84, it gets backed up pretty bad.

u mistook my post it's not the transit its the structure?? It can be done via combining routes. Like an extension of CT 2 to middletown then merge with line E add service to 2 similar to E's service levels the new line becomes multipurpose cause it serves ppl to hartford and ppl from suburb to suburb and locals within a town all in one

Depending on your price range, two areas are a good bet. The neighborhoods south of Sedgwick and west of South Main is easy on/off to 84 and close to the Rt 9 ramp - off Ridgewood or right around Rockledge golf course and Webster Hill school.

There is also Elmwood - south of New Britain Ave and west of Newington Rd. From there, you could hop on 84 or go down W Hartford Rd/Fenn Rd into Newington and hop on Rt 9 directly over by CCSU.

From these neighborhoods, you should be on Rt 9 pretty quickly and that's half the battle in West Hartford where access to the highway isn't the greatest.

Avoid passing through the mall area to have to get on the highway- you'll hate having to take that road from November through early January.
