Good job; you won't be sorry to be rid of the old carpet.

Consider business type indoor/outdoor carpet if/when you re-do the floor. No pad, and it won't be as soft but it won't sponge up water, either. If it gets wet you have a better chance to keep it if you can extract the water and dry it out ASAP.

I want it to look nice. Decision has been made I am looking for jobs in DE, MD, VA, eastern PA, and south NJ. Time to leave CT if I can find a buyer.
