Northeast Utilities has a couple of charging stations and have a couple of electric vehicles for company use. They have a very active program to get these charging stations built across the state. They are one of the reasons Chevy choose Connecticut as one of the first states to market the Volt in. Also UBS installed a station in their Stamford Headquarters several months ago. They too are looking to improve their sustainability. Jay

Hey I have an idea...lets tax gasoline $1.00 per gallon and build inductive electric lines under our major roads.

Don't be surprised if you hear that or something like it, in the near future.

I can smell your opposition from here ;p - Not referring to a plan like this in general, but, if there was some kind of 'sure thing' I wouldn't be against a major project like this to get it to where it needs to go. Like the interstate system - imagining how long that would've taken to happen if left up to the states and based on market need... it just wouldn't have worked. Granted, not the same deal funding-wise, but sometimes that sort of top down approach is the only way to get something huge done.

We're definitely not there yet - look how long after the automobile was UBIQUITOUS it took them to realize the benefits of building the IHS.
