That, and one should never assume that everyone gets a house. The median house vs. income in Mamaroneck is closer to 5-6x income, but both numbers are probably correct. There are poor parts of the neighborhood where people will never own a home and make substantially less, and there are many very wealthy areas where many people here probably make more than their home's value.

In Loiusville, CO though, it's a very planned sort of community so I'd be surprised to see as much variation between incomes. And, almost all of their residents work in Boulder and Denver, which have several high-paying companies.

It is interesting that no FFC towns made the list.

With 20% down, a $350K house isn't really that bad for an income over $100K. In Westchester it would be because the taxes would push you over, but in the rest of the country, they would be fairly low. And, goods/services/taxes/food/fuel out here are a LOT more than in the rest of the country. $100K+ isn't doing that bad in flyover country.
