We're looking for a home or townhome...not really an apartment...

You might then look to rent a condo. There are many in the area. I do not think there are any townhouse rentals around. Most were converted to condos along the way. good luck. Jay

Smile Black Rock perspective from one who lives here

GRATEFUL JAMES
I grew up in Westport, CT which is an affluent town in Fairfield County- and have since lived in Boston and NYC before moving back here. I can't say enough about it. It's a throwback to Norman Rockwell. It's peaceful. Filled with artists, film people, commuters to NYC, young families, a real mix. A real bohemian place where keeping up with the Joneses doesn't apply- and that is UNHEARD of in Fairfield County. It just doesn't exist anywhere else. I love it here and I can afford to live anywhere in Fairfield County- but I choose Black Rock because there is a specialness about it. It's unique, I suggest you take a trip here to check it out. Go to the Harborview Market, located centrally in the heart of BR and see the families, the dogs, the artists, the type of people who make up this place. I can tell you for sure that there is no other place like it in CT.
Good luck
