Found a nice rent in trumbull. I don't understand why seymour and ansonia are even considered since I want a reasonable commute to Stamford...

Anyway, going to see both the rent in trumbull and one in fairfield. Both newly renovated and cost ~900 for 2br that will be split with my roomate.

Trumbull to Stamford by car is not a reasonable commute. The traffic starts in Trumbull and doesn't end until Greenwich. You'd have to drive to the Fairfield or Bridgeport train station.

$900 for a 2BR in FFC? Are you sure it's not a room for rent?

They aren't considered, they are recommended. You were looking into Milford, and the lower Valley area is similar in commute to Stamford, and rents are less. You can still take the train from any of the Valley towns.

As stated before, you can't be picky with your income. When I made that much, if it was safe, it was fine.

So that's $900 a month total for rent? Are you sure it's not $1800 in total? I can't find anything remotely near $900 a month listed for a two bedroom apartment in Trumbull and Fairfield.

From Seymour, there's only one direct train to Stamford all day and it leaves at 6:18 and takes an hour. The others transfer to Bridgeport and take 70 minutes+. The express train from Milford runs a few times in the morning and takes 35 minutes, so it's a much better commute.

Seriously. It can't be right. $1800 makes sense.

If commuting by train, Milford makes sense. But the OP is commuting by car, which in that case, Valley probably makes more sense. The earlier you can jump off of 95, the better.

yeah, Found one in fairfield and one for 1k in trumbull near the bridgeport line.

I work off peak hours, and taking the train would not be optimal since I won't be working anywhere near the train stations.

As long as you realize traffic goes from 7AM-10AM and 4PM-7:30PM and are taking a different commute, should be OK.
