They did when we were out for Irene. I called customer service and was told "tough luck".

Some will automatically credit you, others you have to ask. You should call just in case.

In all of this, I have to take my hat off to my Hartford Courant courier. We have not missed a paper, despite the fact that he probably had to navigate a circuitous route just to make it to our house.

Same with my coworker - I'm quite impressed.

You have to call cox to have them deduct the time the service has been down from your bill. Just a FYI.

Me too. I was so impressed I went to the Courant website where you can leave feedback about your delivery person. I did the same thing after last year's blizzards and my delivery guy didn't miss a day. They probably only get negative feedback, so saying something positive is probably an anomaly.

As for cable/internet/phone...they don't care if power was out. Comcast charged me just the same when I had no power for a week after Irene.
