Looking for some pieces to replace what I couldn't ship from Cali - don't want to spend a ton - (think less than Ethan Allen) We did order a sectional ad entertainment unit from Bob's Furniture - and I anticipated going back there - but we had such a horrendous experience - I refuse to - even though I'd already picked out dining room and bedroom furniture. Specifically - I want to get one of those large, square counter top height dining room tables that seats 8? Any clues?

sgfudd - Route 1 on the Milford/Orange town line use to be the furniture center of Connecticut. It had a number of furniture showrooms including Wayside Furniture which was the largest furniture store in New England. Sadly Wayside sold out to a chain and then that chain went out of business. There are still a number of furniture stores there though.

I suggest checking Raymour and Flannigan. They are a large change with better quality furniture and service than Bob's. There is one on Connecticut Avenue (Route 1) in Norwalk. There is also Avricks in South Norwalk, which has been around forever.

There are also a couple of discount furniture stores in Norwalk as well. Many years ago they had good prices for decent furniture. Discount furniture on New Canaan Avenue may be the one I am thinking of. Good luck, Jay

I think Avrick's has gone out of business.

Did it? I was wondering about that when I wrote this. I vaguely remember hearing something but I still found it listed online. Jay
