I really dont mind living in the common crime area in NH because more likely I am not involved with the crime, dah! I may witness or saw something but it wont touch me, more likely but I may have some risk but risk can be known in the safer areas as well. I feel more scared living in woods because all I can think of is the wild animals and ticks and maybe get shot by deer hunters than the more crime urban areas like New Haven.

Why people got to make New Haven sound more worst than it really is. Get real people.

I don't think anyone is claiming it's a "nice city". It's just not as scummy as you think it is.

The statistics don't lie. New Haven is one of the most dangerous cities in America. And the U.S. overall is a much more dangerous country compared to Canada, Britain, and most European countries. And random crime does happen. You're at much higher risk walking though a ghetto than a safe area. This is common sense. If you were to take a stroll through the whitman park area of camden at anytime you would likely be robbed/jumped/assaulted or even killed. There's crack addicts running all over the place that will kill you for a dime bag. A little more dangerous than being mistaken for a deer in the woods. LMAO

It's not a few guys. It never is. You could never have that high of crime rate if it was just a few bad apples.

A few guys is what happened in Cheshire which is a 1 in 20 million type of incident and is not indicative of Cheshire, which is a very safe city.

This ubiquitous crime seen in New Haven is an epidemic in American cities unfortunately.

Actually statistics can be misleading. Here in Connecticut the cities are very small in area and cover only the core of a larger urban area. The crime statistic is higher because we do not include the lower crime area of the suburbs in the calculation like some cities do. Including those areas help lower the crime rate by diluting the calculation. Still 33 homicides is lot but I can say that I do not feel unsafe when I am in New Haven and I go there often. Jay

Yes statistics can be misleading when you do/don't incorporate other area's, but like you said 33 homicides is still 33. That's what I mean when I say they don't lie.

Strange.
Oh c'mon, you'll be fine. No one ever hears "midde class suburban guy shot dead taking D-SLR photos."

Besides, were you going to photograph the hood?

I guess you have less cojones than the 15,000 Yale students currently in the city.

That's because white guys from the suburbs don't go into the hood to take photographs unless their an leo working a narcotics detail. lol

Yes, but you cannot discount all of NH based on the ghettos. Why would anyone visit them anyway?
