Anyone? I've had the reuben at Moe's Midtown which was pretty solid, but what are your thoughts?

Coming from NY we have been disappointed overall with the sandwich scenario in CT so when we go back to visit family or to NYC for entertainment we get our fix.

If I must eat one here, honestly the town line diner in Wethersfield/rocky hill it's passable.

I won't even attempt an Italian hero (grinder?) up here, the bread is like soft dough, for that I stop in some choice places in the Bronx.

Vernon Diner in Vernon has a pretty good Reuben. I have NOT been a fan of Rein's in Vernon lately. Their quality has been on a rapid decent.

Gaetano's in Stratford/Monroe. Arthur Ave style in CT. Fantastic.

Have you been to Reuben's Deli on LaSalle in West Hartford?

We were there once; my husband had a reuben (with turkey; he doesn't eat beef) and he said it was good. It was definitely pricey, though.

Thanks for the tip, we will maybe check it out next time we are down that way, we are up by Hartford so it's too far to go specifically for a sandwich...hence when we go back to NY we indulge. Up here we don't even attempt it.

I was going to note Rein's, but haven't been to it (nor the Hartford area) in awhile. Interesting and sorry to hear......

I was going to mention Rein's deli in Vernon as well. I was there last summer and it seemed good to me. You can also get a Ruben here with cole slaw or sauerkraut.

Another place no one mentioned is NYPD (new york pickle deli) on Rt 3 Rocky Hill. NYPD might be a franchise I'm not sure.

Hanafin's Irish Pub in Glastonbury. Their house made corned beef is pretty great.
