Foot traffic in downtown new haven has increase alot it like mini brooklyn. New Haven is the major city in CT and Stamford is financial district

I was in Stamford the other day around lunch and it was comparatively much less foot traffic. Almost would call it "dead". Is it because it's such a commuter's city?

Yale receives $150 million gift to create performing arts center. This plus the new residential colleges means about $550 million in construction over the next 5 years. Yale also borrowed $250 million last year for capital projects, which I don't think include the colleges and performing arts center. "The proceeds from the bond issue will fund a range of capital projects on campus, including renovations to the Hall of Graduate Studies, Sterling Chemistry Laboratory and the Wright Nuclear Structure Laboratory, as well as the turbine replacement for the Central Power Plant and initial costs for the new Yale Biology Building, said Alexander Banker, a director of the Yale Investments Office."
