I read in the paper over the weekend that North Cove Outfitters in Old Saybrook will be closing.

Too bad... that was a good place for outdoor equipment with lots of knowledgable staff.

It is in today's Courant too. Sad that such a good longtime local retailer is closing. Jay

I went there a few years ago and promptly left because their prices were outrageous. Can't say I'm surprised they closed.

I've been going there for decades. Their prices were higher because they sold premium merchadise like Patagonia. You can't get those products in many places. They had some unique quality products.

It was the only place we could find a waterproof gear bag last year the size we needed.

So does Outdoor Sports Center in Wilton, but their prices were far more competitive IMO.

Most likely never. Most going out of business sales are rarely any good. Usually the owner will sell the merchadise to a liguidator who comes in, sell everything and closes the store. That liquidator usually jacks up the original prices and then offers it at a certain percentage off which is not necessarily a great bargain. You really have to be careful. Jay
