This seems rather excessive for the state as a whole. Maybe Fairfield County but certainly not Hartford, New Haven, Tolland, Windham or New London. Jay

I think what he was referring to was the town of Newtown rather than the whole state. Even so, it seems a bit high for Newtown but I did hear the town is now quite pricey.

Yes I do agree about the prices in Newtown. But in perspecitve a $900k home would be for someone who is down grading from a home worth about $1.5 million -$2 million or more.

That is just my opinion ... who else could afford that??

The local MLS shows 20 properties, built in 2006 or later, closed in Newtown in 2007 with an average price of $892,122.

If I include properties, built in 2006 or later, that closed in Newtown after 01/01/2006, the average jumps to $917,741.

I was referring to just Newtown for the almost one million dollar price tag both homes built since 2000 and since 2006.
