I just don't understand how a young girl can have NO one looking out for her. If I saw anyone in my family going down this road I'd step in long before it happened.

I would do the same thing. It's sad how many young people are falling thru the cracks everyday and no one seems to care or notice.

I didn't want to comment until people had a chance to read the article or watch the TV show. I saw it last night and while a couple details didn't make sense (or I misinterpreted them) the show did a decent job of presenting the case.

Hard to believe that 2 normal 18 yr old girls disappear for a year and no one in their family is looking for them? Also, the number of people who came in contact with the 2 girls over that time they were enslaved and no one thought it was suspicious? No one thought to drop an anonymous tip via phone to the police? That's sad. These 2 girls were lucky that the original Hartford detective followed up on the accusations.

They didn't have too many street scenes from Hartford and kept using the Hartford skyline shot. One thing they messed up on when they started a new segment the narrator said "in the wealthy city of Hartford, CT" but the shot was of West Hartford center.

This also goes to show how outsiders always think Connecticut is wealthy. It has it's areas of wealth, but not everyone is wealthy. They should have visited Albany Ave.
