I was in Greenwich Pt Park in March when it was free. However now they charge fees since it is after 4/30. I am confused by the parking pass/fees info on the website. It appears that if you are not a resident you have to purchase a parking pass from the Town Hall and not upon arrival to the park? Is this true? From what i was able to find it appears it would be $20 or $25?. it would be only me in my car. Anyone here familiar with the fees for non residents?

You've mostly got it right.

The non-resident fee is $ 20 per vehicle plus $ 5 per person or $25 for you and your car per trip.

You cannot buy a parking pass at the park itself. They'll let non-residents in, but they're not going to make it easy - lol

You can get parking passes at one of three places

town hall- Monday through Friday 8 AM- 3:45 PM

East Greenwich Civic Center at 90 Harding Rd. Old Greenwich

9-5 daily

or West Greenwich Civic Center 449 Pemberwick Rd.

weekends and holidays 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

I would call each of the last two before any trip just to make sure of the days and hours.

oh jeez, unless they're off exit 5 and on the way to the park, it may not pay for me to go thru this. i really don't know Greenwich other than the route to the park. I might just wait until November to go for free. maybe i will go to Sherwood Isl as i'm familiar with it. but there's no view of NY from there

but thanks for the info

Think before throwing up hands in disgust.

The civic center on Harding in Old Greenwich is less than quarter of a mile from the road you're going to take off Exit 5 to get down to the beach.

Google is your friend. Even without a GPS, just Google the location and use any map to see where it is in relation to exit 5. You'll be fine.

Good luck

Only selling at town hall is not uncommon. That's what most towns do, because for the most part, it's kids manning the booths at these parks. They don't want them to hold cash for various reasons. Not a bad idea IMO.

No idea as to the going in and out. Have never done that and don't know anyone who has. I suppose you'll have to call and ask.

rlrl...what do you mean go out of the park and come back in? If you mean go spend a few hours and go have lunch and come back, yes...it's a day-long pass, until sunset. The East Community Center is VERY easy to get to and you can pull up in the circle-drive, drop in, and leave in about 5 minutes tops.
