We are looking at a few houses for sale in ridgefield. We have two kids in elementary school. Are there any asian Indians in ridgefield? Don,t get me wrong, some of our thickest friends are Caucasian but we just don,t want our kids to feel left out.hence trying to find the demographic of ridgefield. Anybody have an idea? Thank you.

From Wikipedia:
Quote:
The racial makeup of the town was 96.12% White, 0.62% Black or African American, 0.09% Native American, 2.08% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.36% from other races, and 0.70% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.97% of the population.
If you're looking for a little more diversity, why not consider a town like Bethel? You still get good schools, home prices are lower, and it's certain to be less homogenous than Ridgefield.

Ridgefield is pretty white (as you can see from Cam's graphs), as are most of the towns in the area. Its a very nice town with good schools and a great downtown. I think its one of the nicest towns in CT.
I believe Stamford has a sizeable Indian population. It may make sense to take a look there.

Yes, Stamford I know from personal experience to have more Asian Indian than the graph is revealing. Especially in East Stamford but might not be location OP is considering.

Schools in Stamford are not very good. Ridgefield schools are very appealing. My husband has to commute to purchase , ny for work. So we are trying to balance commute, schools etc. commute from ridgefield ( via 35 and 684 ) is not great but not much choice. We contemplated Westport, wilton etc but decided against those because of Merritt/95.

For a Purchase commute, you should consider New Fairfield as well. Not for diversity, but from west NF it's a really easy commute to hop onto 684 and it's cheaper and generally more grounded than Ridgefield.
