Please need help in understanding commute times. I'm re-locating to the area. I was planning on living near Shippan Point in Stamford and commuting to Norwalk for work. However, I also need to drop off my child in daycare in North Stamford. What can I expect in commute times during rush hour traffic? I am doing the reverse commute, but am still trying to gauge how bad traffic will be, particularly on Merritt Parkway.

Shippan Point- North Stamford ??

North Stamford via Merritt Parkway to Norwalk ??

Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Coming back from Norwalk in morning could be nasty on the Merritt. You'll probably want to take backroads. Figure 20 minutes at that point.

Where is your office in Norwalk?

The Merritt should not be too bad for the reverse commute. Honestly, it will probably take you longer to get from Shippan to North Stamford than it will to get from Stamford to Norwalk on the Merritt in the morning.

Sorry, I misread.

Figure 15 minutes to get to north Stamford, another 10-15 to get to work.

Yay! That sounds somewhat manageable! Google Maps estimated just shy of 20 minutes each leg, but I assume that is without traffic. It sounds like (fingers crossed) that traffic shouldn't be too much of an issue going in these directions. Office park is located in Merritt 7.
