I wouldnt say always. Of the few main stations it mostly is I think because of the terrain and elevation. The others are either flatter or have more heat obstacles around them?

Waterbury OXC sometimes is colder. Danbury station is at 456' elevation. Waterbury 728'

DXR - http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=41.365934&lon=-73.513517

OXC - http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=41.465942&lon=-73.131361

Here's a look at all the co-op sister stations around.. Looks like the CT Valley a tiny bit warmer than the hills.

Temps in Black. Wind Chill in Blue. Wind gusts in Red.

NWS Mesonet Observations

NWS Boston for next week. lol If the Euro is correct, what should we do?

*/WEDNESDAY AND BEYOND...

IF THE 13.12Z ECMWF IS CORRECT...BUNDLE UP. AGAIN...AM NOT GOING
TO CONSIDER THE 14.0Z ECMWF. CYCLONICALLY DEEPENING AND OCCLUDING
SYSTEM OVER SOUTHEASTERN CANADIAN MARITIMES AGAINST THE ROBUST
BLOCKING PATTERN THROUGH THE DAVIS STRAIGHT / GREENLAND ALLOWS FOR
A PROLONGED PERIOD OF DRY AND VERY COLD NORTHWESTERLY FLOW
STRAIGHT INTO NEW ENGLAND. LOOKING AT BELOW-NORMAL TEMPERATURES
AND BLUSTERY CONDITIONS.

Edit... here's the minimum temps next week at night from the Euro they mentioned.. I see why now.
Widespread single digits and teens at night,

I think most of the Midwest and Northeast have a good chance for accumulating snow next week. While I have see colder air in March, it may be enough to produce a decent snow, or two next week with the storm tarck setting up.
