Speaking of which, it has just started flurrying here. What's the forecast regarding snow this weekend?
WOW! Thanks for posting that! I just got 5 years of top soil delivered today. LMAO! I've been spreading it all day.

I contribute my soft soil to the snowpack which continued to melt each time. The longest snowpack I had was 3 weeks after the blizzard. But over 10 times I had accumulating snow (some over 3 inches) it always melted within a week. So it helped keep it moist meanwhile not freeze it.

Current temps and radar. Some areas seeeing snow flurries and showers.

30s at 5pm. No complaining here.

As far as this weekend.. I think we stay cold but dry.. Wouldnt be suprised if there were scattered snowshowers. In fact I wouldnt be suprised if some spots had a burst of snow which accumulated up to an inch.

This is the NAM, shows a couple inches, GFS is south more shows nothing. Im going for the middle.

For Monday night-Tuesday I'm thinking Rain south of I-84 still. Maybe 2-4" northwards then rain. Want to see more model runs

Remember...Upton covers bottom 4 CT counties and Long Island and southern NY so when they say "interior" they mean northern Westchester, Fairfield, ect.. ...

QUESTION ON MONDAY IS HOW FAST DOES PRECIPITATION MOVE IN -

APPEARS AT ONSET LOW LEVELS WILL BE COLD ENOUGH TO SUPPORT MAINLY
SNOW - HOWEVER WOULD EXPECT COASTAL AREAS TO QUICKLY CHANGE TO ALL
RAIN GIVEN BOUNDARY LAYER WARMTH IN THE AFTERNOON - HOWEVER INTERIOR
ZONES COULD SEE ALL SNOW DURING THE DAY - ESPECIALLY IN HIGHER
ELEVATIONS.

FOR HIGHS MONDAY FORECASTING VALUES MAINLY IN THE MID TO UPPER 30S WHICH IS AROUND TO
JUST COOLER THAN 10 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL.

PRECIPITATION OVERSPREADS THE ENTIRE CWA MONDAY NIGHT - WITH MAINLY SNOW ACROSS NORTHERN INTERIOR ZONES AND MAINLY RAIN - WITH MAYBE SOME SNOW MIXED IN ACROSS SOUTHERN ZONES.

DO EXPECT SURFACE WARM FRONT TO REMAIN TO THE SOUTH MONDAY NIGHT PER ECMWF/EXPECTATIONS
WITH A RETREATING DAMMING HIGH - SO WILL HAVE TO MONITOR FOR POTENTIAL FOR SLEET/FREEZING RAIN - HOWEVER TO MUCH UNCERTAINTY TO GET THAT SPECIFIC WITH P-TYPE AT THIS TIME. FOR NOW APPEARS ANY SNOW ACCUMULATION MONDAY NIGHT SHOULD STAY BELOW WARNING LEVELS.

I heard its snowing on some kind of parade in NYC right now. lol

It's pretty darn chilly out there in the 30s for midday in March.

Current radar and temps and metars showing where snow is being reported by the main stations. Parts of PA is covered in white already... this is a very light system but will put down up to 3" in spots.

With temps 3 degrees below normal already for the month , this could be a top 5 coldest March for the area if no warm spell pops up the last week. Avg. highs should be approaching 50 on coast..47 /48 inland...its CCOOOOLLLLDDD

It's a flizzard in New Canaan. Nothing sticking. Flakes too small and not hard enough. Another day with snow flying in the air.
