2pm temps April 23rd. Wind chill making it feel like 30s in spots. Clear sunny skies West of the Appalacians. I bet there's a fantastic view from the summits.
Feels like a winter day.

Looks like 70's tomorrow! Then back to low 60's rest of week..seasonable..I'll take it. Personally there is nothing more annoying than cold April weather. Frankly I'm fine with warm weather through September..its summer , thats what its supposed to do. Just like in winter the cold and snow is all good..its winter.

Just think, in 5 months cool Fall nights will be here.

Today wasn't that bad here but in Dodge City, Kansas Normal high is 70 degrees and they didnt get out of the 20s. Thats bad. Amarillo Texas normal high is mid 70s. They stayed in the 30s. I guess I'm trying to make you all feel better that our 40s here compared to low 60s for normals wasnt that cold. lol

lol. Yes unprecidented. One broke, the other had the 1800s record hold.

We wont be breaking records around here next week or so.

But speaking of records, since CT was involved in it..

Over 9,600 Snow and Cold records broken in the past 42 days. Thats not a typo.

Wow that thread noted that the % of snow cover for the entire US has not gone down in a month! That's amazing for April!

Locally, I noticed they've cut the highs for today by about 5 degrees, mostly upper 60s to about 70 now.

I would think those locations will see the last remaining snowcover vaporize as temps climb into the 60’s and 70’s under full April sunshine in the upper Plains. I would be really surprised if there is any snow cover left ANYWHERE on the USA mainland after this weekend. The warming will but an end to any below normal temps from the Plains to the East Coast for the rest of the month :

For Connecticut/Tri-State area….the warming and sunny/dry pattern will feature stable and perfect weather for many days to come. Blazing sunshine, bone dry, and temps in the middle 60’s F. As far as the below/above normal temps, while I agree that temps will be close to normal, they will still be slightly above normal for the rest of the month. The normal high at NWS Bridgeport today is 60 F…and it is 62 F by the last of the month. Based on their NWS forecast – I see no days for the rest fo the month that NWS Bridgeport will have highs of less than 64 F.:

Here comes the sun and the warmth......

Not to get you all "excited" Wavehunter, but some models are now showing highs near 70 again for early next week (though others keep it in the low 60s).

Back to seasonable temps.. The landscape must be feeling good.

We're in between a coastal storm and a cold front right now. That streak of clouds over Western CT are high wispy clouds otherwise its mostly sunny everywhere with a light variable breeze
