I thought it was a good summer. It did not stay hot too long but we had a nice summer heat wave in July. What would summer be without a New England heat wave?? June started cool and wet which is okay as it does not allow summer to stretch too long. August has been simply delightful. I think its been typical.

Remember average is only the median between the extremes. Typical summer weather. What on your end would make you happy ?? 80-85 and sunny for 3 months?? This is New England..you won't get it.

It's currently 103° with a real feel of 105° in Norwalk... Normal high is 82. Oh yeah... this is in Iowa. LOL. Feel blessed we aren't feeling what central U.S is. WOW!

August has been the best month of summer weather wise

For two reasons....

It was cool and its the unofficial last month of summer lol

Did someone ask for something big? GGEM is saying a hurricane hits North Carolina and comes up the coast.

Only 1 model. And wayyy out there. So just look and move on. lol

This isn't happening in this time frame because there should be a trough in the Northeast pushing away any threat.

I would call this summer a GREAT summer. LOL But it all depends how one feels about certain kind of summer weather. Obviously those who like a warm summer will say it was a bad summer. lol
I actually rather liked it because we had a nice mix of hot and cool.

Might be ending though. I saw that Chicago (which hit 96 today), had a thunderstorm that dropped them from 95 to 74 in one hour! It shows a weird forecast, 70s tomorrow, near 90 Sunday but then low 70s all week.

Lots of damage around Chicago area. Pictures of nightime while the sun was up. Pretty sick. Maybe the high tomm is cause of clouds?

NWS Vermont mentions frost next week which translates to fall weather for us too. We'll see. 40s probable but most people will feel the daytime 60s instead.

Bridgeport, CT (BDR) hasn't had a day temp that stayed below 60° in 14 weeks (98 days). May 25th was the last time at 50°.

I change my mind, this Summer sucks! LOL Can't even have a day temp staying below 60 in June, July or August.

I've actually thoroughly enjoyed this summer. Never felt too hot, got to use the pool a bunch..a few trips to the ocean. Endured a nice New England heat wave...all good stuff and part of the ever changing seasons here in New England. Time to cool it down now and enjoy a crisp fall season.

I'm also in the "short super-hot summer" camp. I thought this summer was great. Looking forward to a long autumn and mild winter. Here's hoping.

long autumn but then a cold snowy winter that ends March 1st...mild winters are as bad as cool summers. No place for em here in New England!
