Pathetic for a bow echo. Barely thundered and heavy rain for 10 minutes.

As Upton mentioned, severe storms would have a problem getting to the coast. Kuddos to them. Nice call. Not even thunder here right now. Just heavy rain. But that might not be the case in Litchfield and Hartford where they may see thunder and lightning.

As my 75 yr old neighbor ssaid to me today, he doesnt care what everyone says before hand, when it starts, he goes inside and has a glass of wine. lmao! I like that thinking in a way.

Another dud. These west to east moving storms always run out of gas by the time they reach CT. The south to north moving storms, on the other hand, always seem to pack a punch.

We didn't even get heavy rain! Just a light shower. A few light breezes earlier.....all that hype, and few were actually affected.

So does this day count as a day of storms since all I got was rain?

I was looking back at all the storm alerts I got since May .. Lets move on into fall now please.

On that note.. This is NAMs minimum temps for Monday and Tuesday morning. GFS is cooler as usual so not worth posting.

Who's ready for 40s and 50s finally?

It was a Tornado in NYC:

No I knew about that, I mean that if what I saw is that or just a coincidence (I still was a good 20 miles or so away from it).

I have two theories for it:

1) Either the "marine layer" weakened it (as usually happens), or

2) The earlier NY storms made the air a little less unstable.

I'm not sure about the marine layer playing as much a role since this was a south-north system as opposed to a more traditional west to east.

Cam: You know we love you... But Upton was pathetic today. Totally missed the rotation in earlier cells (also missed the cells entirely from 11-1). They also called for the front/squall line to come through around 10pm. Again a huge miss. I'm also not sure what is going on with everyone's radar as of late. Dark purple plus sitting overhead twice today and it barely rained.

You can log a thunderstorm though, I did have 3 claps of thunder spread amidst two storms at 11:30am and 6pm.

Are you sure those 3 claps weren't just your wife tooting?

2 inches here today total ...good call weathermen..dead on...in fact almost underdone./ Although I do admit the actual cold front storms looked a lot more impressive on radar than they were. It is quite amazing how the storms weaken as soon as they enter CT..not sure why.
