Pre Thanksgiving Storm Update::

So NAM coming into range now.. It's last frame shows torch and rain even near Great Lakes. (No, this is wrong) Meanwhile GFS shows complete opposite. Frozen precip to Mid Atlantic and OTS keeping CT clear.

So I wonder where the middle ground is.... Oh yeah... Euro. Snow to Rain to Snow for CT. Big snowstorm for MA/VT/NH/ME. New Euro update comes out in 2 hrs.

Keep me updated on the NH potential snow scenario. I will be there next week for holidays, fly out tomorrow.

New Canadian and Euro just out says blow torch for coast & Heavy rains for everyone including Vermont/NH. Storm takes a more west track up the U.S. Winds would be very strong as well. That's my point... Storm is happening but these tracks/temps/precip are the fine tunes we need to watch for. Then Temps crash hard after it leaves. Next update tonight after 10.

I'll repeat something I said few days ago. This isn't a Sandy. This isn't an October snowstorm. But some travel delays are likely from it being rain or snow from the south to Northeast.

NWS Boston:

"This what makes weather fun. GFS model takes mid week storm well out to sea while the EC takes it over NYC. Consistency anyone?"

Here, which one do you believe? lol. NAM is only a mid range model so it's starting to get into the storm time frame for our area (by tomorrow night it will). Conservative would say the in between of them all, right?

Sometimes you have to look west to see what weather is coming towards us..

This was the 2pmEST temps & Radar. Lake Effect Snows and Cold Clouds seen on Satellite and widespread teens. Texas has stayed in the 30s during the day 2 days straight! So being that they are still cold off to the west and the arctic air is arriving tonight, that tells me this cold is going to linger around. Granted we wont be in the teens for Highs like some folks are going through but pretty impressive stuff.

As usual those Lake Effect streamers have a hard time making it over the mountains but Litchfield County might see some white stuff tonight. Maybe everyone a little bit

Oh man, those teens out in MN/IA/WI. Scary. Though I guess winter is just a month away...

So I think the only shot for any real snow would be in the Great Lakes and New England (Boston and northward). The NY/NJ/CT southward it would be all rain, if they are right.

Dangerous Cold Air Takes Aim at Midwest

In the short term....it looks to get milder in the next few days with highs back into the 50's F on the East Coast:

Good chance of seeing some snow tonight. Looks like a nice band is about to enter Litchfield County and possibly Hartford.

Edit- Many reports of snow in Litchfield County.
Reports of snow coating the ground in NY,NJ and PA per NWS Facebook page.

NWS just put up a warning. I think they underestimated the snow showers. Moving into CT now.

Through 7pm, those in Bergen, western Essex, Passaic counties in NJ, and Orange, Putnam, and Westchester counties in NY, a few bands of snow showers have developed. Motorists should use extra caution in areas with reduced visibility as low as 1 mile and gusty winds.
