In New Haven, in the old days, there was a hot dog truck at Long Wharf and a hot dog cart near the courthouse on Elm St. I was working at Yale New Haven Hospital when the trucks started coming there and now there is about a half block long row of them each day, Thai, Chinese, Mexican, kettle corn, cupcake truck and a couple of times a Mr. Softee truck. Lots of the hospital staff eat there, even in the winter.

I have had that. IT was great pizza, certainly better than most you find in a pizza joint. I also have had some very good quality food off trucks. It is kind of trend going on right now. Still you have to know where to find the good ones cause there are still a couple of bad ones around. Jay

I think my negative association comes from when I was working in DC a few weeks ago. The Golden Triangle area is inundated with food trucks. I had a class that was obsessed with them. While the Korean food was ok, i was miserable sitting in the park, without a table, and hot...

Perhaps I'll give them another go...

LOL Yea that can be an issue for sure. Like any restaurant, some suck but it's really akin to the mini bistro thing that took off in Europe. You find some really innovative young chefs tearing it up at a bargain price. The Korean thing IMO is way over done...

It's so adorable that people assume a restaurant with the kitchen out of sight is cleaner than a food truck.

If you're in Hartford the best place for food trucks is around Bushnell Park. They mostly serve the state Govt employees in that area. Also, there used to be a few food trucks in State house square. (where the old state house is located)

Don't think there are any. Having come from that area, there are so few inventive restaurants that a good food truck scene would kill the brick and mortar restaurants. It's probably a good thing for Danbury!

I tried Lenny's Coal Fired pizza at a recent farmer's market in Weston and loved it.
