NJ drivers are rather hideous, but not too different from CT drivers (i.e. left-lane camping in their monstrosity of an SUV while blabbing away on the cell phone, etc...)

I've always wondered why there's so many NJ plates on I-84 in the Hartford area. They really need to not venture beyond FFC ...which is already littered with NY'ers

I love the part of I-84 north/east of Hartford, heading up toward I-90. I usually go in the 80-90 mph range driving that stretch, depending upon traffic/weather.

I got a ticket in Delaware with my NY license. NY DMV told me as long as i pay the ticket it will not be recorded on my NY license but that if i did not pay the ticket then NY would be notified and then default judgments entered, etc

I have a Connecticut license, and that's basically the same thing Connecticut told me when I got a ticket in New York. That was great, since I don't really care about getting fined, only about getting a suspension if I slip up and get too many tickets in too short of a time.

It's like a race track . Once you cross the Mass. border, watch out for their state troopers though. My older bro got pinched for going 88 between the CT line and the Mass Pike interchange. Literally right after this happened, the cop pulled over a New Yorker; all the while of course, cars with Mass plates are flying by over 90mph. There is so much BS bias against NY, NJ, CT plates in eastern MA --and it probably didn't help my bro was wearing a Giants shirt.

There is so much New Yorkaphobia in this thread. When you use the word "littered," you are implying they are trash.

Unfortunately this type of vitriol is all too common in areas north and east of Hartford, and it is completely illogical . If you have such serious issues with them driving or just being here, don't cross the river and stick to the backroads of Tolland.

NY and NJ drivers coming north and east ARE NO WORSE than the MA ones spilling over our northern borders (notice the use of "spilling" (neutral), as opposed to "littering" (rude) ).

Yes, many, many drivers from those states are downright bad drivers, but again MA is no different. I almost got completely T-boned a couple years ago turning left onto 44 in Avon by some MA jerk in massive suburban (I was driving a Toyota sedan). I'm always cautious in the heavy traffic on 44 and waited through 2 seconds of green before turning. He had the red for 3 seconds, and ran it going at least 60. Could've easily been killed, by a perp that was NOT from NY or NJ.

Except without the safety precauctions and then also taking the lives of other innocent travelers by being a jackass and doing ridiculous speeds on a public roadway. You want to "feel like youre on a racetrack", then do exactly that.

Theres also at least 3 common spots that troopers sit in that area too. Hope they bust any douchebags treating that part of the highway as a racetracks before they hurt or kill someone.

OK calm down there. Was just a little tongue in cheek comment. Obviously racing on the highway is dangerous. However, if you have the reaction time, undivided attention, ideal weather conditions, light traffic, and suitable vehicle, speeding at 75 or 80 doesn't really doesn't put anyone in danger. Old/drunk/texting people is a whole nother story.

I am not as fast of a driver as my brother, but if I can safely navigate the road speeding slightly on the highway, than I will and that's my business. On major secondary roads with lights, I always play it safe at or a little below the limit--traffic on roads such as rte. 4 and 44 has gotten so obnoxious you really have to.

I have seen troopers on the MA part of Rte. 84 between the CT line and the Mass Pike, but somehow I never got busted there. Sometimes, they sit in the crossover right at the state line. I've done that drive to Boston so many times, speeding, that I don't know how I've never gotten nailed somewhere along the way. I think it was the Giants shirt that did your brother in....
