We were there last year with our son who was 1 1/2 at the time. He enjoyed seeing the animals but remember it's a small zoo. To me it's similar to the Mystic Aquarium; small, has a few exhibits, can get around within an hour or so, and not worth the cost of admission. I'd rather spend the money going to the Norwalk Maritime, or better yet making a trip to the Boston Aquarium which I've heard is really cool.

Like I said a good time for the kids and taking a stroll around but not something I'd buy a season pass or go to annually even.

I haven't been in a few years, probably five now with an ex of mine and her little sister. I remember it being a pretty good value for the money, and the place in generally good condition. Sad to hear its gone downhill.

It has not gone down hill since you been there. If you look the original post for this thread is 5 years old. I think this is more that posters here are expecting world class attractions like you find at the Bronx Zoo which is just unreasonable. The Beardsley Zoo is just a small local Zoo that is good for a few hours visit. If you want more then drive the extra hour or so to the Bronx. You have that option. Jay

Missed the date, thought it was newer. That's a shame then, I bet it is still great. Never been to the Bronx Zoo. Beardsley was perfect for that few hours. We are close to NYC for a reason, CT doesn't need these world class attractions.
