CT is also #1 - with the latest "tax freedom" day of May 5th. NJ & NY are tied for second place with May 1st.

If I went on a vacation and crossed the state line into CT would I be taxed? How about when I cross the state line leaving, would that create another tax?

Yes, I believe Malloy added an "Air Use Tax" for all pass-through visitors.

I can rep you for that reply. I live in WI and things aren't much better here. The only thing they don't raise taxes on is beer, which is why at any given time half the population is passed out.

I wish half of CT would be passed out at any given time. Maybe there would be less traffic.

Connecticut is high regarding everything....Gas, property and car taxes....It was voted in 2011-12 as one of the most expensive state to live and Number # 1 in the worst state to retire...which is why I'm leaving CT and relocating south.

I don't know, fairfield county real estate taxes are dirt cheap compared to our neighbors in Westchester. It's a reason they all move here!
