Hi
I got a job offer to move to Danbury CT, we are a family , me my wife and 2 kids.
I am looking for the best schools for my 7 year old and 4 year old. Schools are very important and also safe areas too.
I don’t mind commuting to Danbury for 30 or 35 minute drive as long my family live in a safe are and good schools. I am looking to rent a house or town house/appartment , a 3Br average living around 1800-2000 monthy. So should i be looking around fairfield county or somewhere else ???
I heard Danbury schools are not rated that good in CT.
Any ideas or recommendations is highly appreciated.

There are many great towns around Danbury. Bethel, New Fairfield ad Brookfield are wonderful towns for families. I think one of these would be good towns to consider. Jay

You should check out school rating online and explore each districts website.

I like Southbury but would just find it tough to recommend over towns that are similarly priced and closer to Danbury.

I agree with Stylo . . Southbury is a nice town, but it's 15 minutes from Danbury off-hours and on weekends and holidays only -- definitely not so during rush hour. (Although it would certainly fit in with the OPs request for a commute within 35 minutes.) And I would add Newtown to the list before going even further out to southbury. Brookfield/Bethel/New Fairfield/Newtown -- you can't go wrong with any of these towns
