Got an email Warning regarding West Nile Virus Mosquitoes found in Mianus River Park Stamford. So heads up. Read the tips on how to eliminate standing water around your property.

"A mosquito trap in Mianus River Park has yielded West Nile virus-infected mosquitoes, according to the Greenwich Health Department. This trapping, the second conducted by the department, found infected mosquitoes in the Mianus River Park, which straddles the Greenwich-Stamford border. Park users will want to take appropriate precautions to minimize their risk of being infected by biting mosquitoes. OMG! Mosquitoes in Mianus!

Sorry. I swear I'm an adult.

Interestingly, 80% of cases are asymptomatic. I didn't know that. And eliminating standing water certainly seems like a no-brainer!

It's actually a lot higher than 80% Lintu. Another "epidemic" that is anything but.

Interesting! I'm not personally worried about it, but people keep freaking out.

I know back in TX (where I'm from), they've been doing massive amounts of mosquito spraying. My dad is really frustrated by this because it ends up killing more of the good bugs, which then increases the mosquito population, and so forth.

I know the elimination of standing water thing was pretty key when it came to malaria and yellow fever in 18th century and 19th century America.
