Do you think I'll lose power? I just bought the last generator from Lowes but have no idea how to use it. I've read the directions but they're over my head. Does anyone know of a link that can help me figure out how to use this generator?

My husband works for NYC water dept so he was mandated to go to work and now I'm stuck here alone and not sure what to do.

thanks for any suggestions, and stay safe everyone.
Do NOT use the generator inside - you can get CO poisoning. There should be directions and your husband can probably advise you better as well...

Just use common sense and play it smart. Talk to your neighbors even if you don't know them - you never know when you may need them. Exchange phone numbers.

I'd be willing to bet that a neighbor would be more than happy to help her setup the generator, provided that it has 2 120V outlets on it.

Is it possible for you to find a safe hotel that isn't booked up?

The Weather Channel is saying most of the rain will dump west of the storm, western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, etc.

The ocean surge part will impact northeast of the storm costal areas. Of course, wind will be everywhere.

It has flooded twice in the past 6 months I believe. It's not from the river it's from the rain and lack of drainage I believe.

Homes on North Carolina coast already falling into the Atlantic and the storm is 230 miles from there.
Photo is black and white but seems legit.
