Default I Hope Everyone is Prepared for Sandy

I was startled , despite watching the weather for the last 2 days, when Malloy said on MSNBC 362,000 residents were in evacuation zones. That is a double digit percentage of the population.

He also was told (I'm assuming by NOAA or the like) to expect conditions more in line with a Cat 4 than Cat 1.

So anyway, I hope it turns out far weaker than projected. The winds do not seem a threat at all, but the surge is the issue. Obviously, a more northerly track would aid Southern Ct.

Every governor I have seen on tv looks spooked, and it is understandable. The so called "Perfect Storm" while a good movie, hit mainly water, and sparsely populated areas.

Anyway, sorry for the rambling, but take extra care everyone.

GOV. MALLOY ORDERS ROAD CLOSURES
No Trucks Allowed into State After 11AM; Complete Road Closure at 1PM

(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Dannel P. Malloy today ordered road closures for all state highways. The closures will be implemented in two phases. At 11:00 A.M., trucks will be prohibited from operating on limited access highways. At 1:00 P.M., state highways will be closed to all non-emergency related vehicles.

“Residents need to take this storm very seriously. Beginning in the next several hours, wind gusts will begin to exceed 50 m.p.h., making traveling along our roads – especially wooded areas like the Merritt Parkway – very dangerous. We’re doing this in two phases, so that trucks will first be prohibited and then all non-emergency vehicles. If you’re in a non-evacuation area, stay home.”
