Just got off the phone after talking to a friend that lives in the Gehry building in Lower Manhattan. He says that everything is fine, but the building is swaying and creaking, and residents have been warned that the city might ask for the power to be shut down in the whole building.

It must be a very scary experience to go through a storm like this in a skyscraper.

Wind just got crazy here in southern Westchester and mostly hasn't stopped. Lights have flickered twice in the last 10 minutes but so far so good.....

Ironically, I thought I was going to be in the dark by this time, especially when the lights started to flicker around 11am or so, but nothing has happened yet.

I'm still expecting to go off in any minute.

Got my flashlight and changed to my usual nightwear, so if it goes, I'm going straight to bed.

At any rate, just spoke to my parents who are on the south shore of Long Island, about 25 miles east of manhattan..said wind their now is really getting gnarly.

Thoughts?

seems to be getting rainier but a bit less windy.
Let's hope we r not in the Eye of the storm.

it gets calm in the eye.
Try going onto the NOAA weather website if it exists.

My lights have been flickering for the last hour or so. Hopefully if we lose power which I probably expect I can get through dinner then go straight to bed.
