Sorry to hear that. Are you in Monroe? I had a friend comment this morning about Monroe being at 100% out.

Also, I know it's illegal to, but I hope the landscaping companies aren't price gouging due to the extreme circumstances.

CL&P update: You will be getting a restoration time starting tomorrow

"In the past 24 hours, CL&P has worked with the state and towns to clear thousands of roads; we've assessed the majority of our main lines and have restored power to more than 320,000 customers. Today's goals include completing damage assessment and working to restore town-identified critical customers (like police stations, water treatment plants, etc). Based on critical information from our damage assessments, we expect to announce a global restoration projection tomorrow. As crews are dispatched to make specific repairs, estimates for those repairs will be updated in our system"

What is your definition of price gouging? Suppose it normally costs $250 to remove a tree. There are 100 houses with trees to remove in a my neighborhood and I'm willing to pay $400 to get mine removed immediately. Should it be illegal for the company to accept an extra $150 from me?

Suppose the nanny-state starts cracking down on this "price gouging". We wouldn't get any out of state crews up here. Last October, I had some guys from Georgia cutting trees down in my neighborhood and some guys from Ohio hauling away debris. I definately overpaid because the alternative was to wait until spring when the local guys would be able to get around to it. If it weren't for the higher prices, the crews from Georgia and Ohio wouldn't have come up here to help. They were here for the money, not on a humanitarian mission.

Strange that the comment above about the "dip" didn't show up in your picture. I was going to comment that this could become a salt pond.

Drove to work in NY this morning and I can see why they closed the merritt on Monday. What a mess it must have been....downed trees scattered all over the place. It obvious they had to do a lot of cutting and clearing. Guardrails smashed where trees must have been across the parkway.
I hope whoever is still out gets power back soon. UI told us maybe 5 days but it came on last night.

Rhode Island. Atlantic Ave. in the Misquamicut section of Westerly. There was a road there. The whole coastline has been reshaped from MA to VA.
