Does anyone know a good halfway point between CT and West Virginia to meet some friends for a long weekend during the summer? We are looking for a bed & breakfast or a nice hotel/motel.

thank you

Depends on what part of Connecticut and what part of West Virginia.

The Philadelphia area just to the west looks like a good choice.

My vote would be Cape May, New Jersey. Historic buildings, walkable town, sightseeing tours, the beach, BB galore. But go before mid November, a bit cold after that.

Central Pennsylvania has some nice places. There is a golf-centered resort (Toftrees) in State College; the proximity to Penn State ensures plenty of restaurants and the like. There are plenty of hotels/motels of all types in State College. The MidState hiking trail is also in the neighborhood if anybody is a hiker.

If you want a quiet rural place to just kick back, look to the north central part of PA. You can get as rural as you want there, and there are outdoor activities like canoeing and hiking all over that region. Wellsboro is a nice town and the Grand Canyon of PA nearby is worth a visit (though it is a fraction of the grand-ness of the real Grand Canyon).
