Hi,

Anyone experiencing issues with cable service, post-power restoration? Cablevision appears to have literally disconnected their customer service hotline so I'm trying to figure out if my WiFi will return once CL&P finishes up.

I'm in Stratford in an area that wasn't hit too hard, and FWIW, I had power but didn't get Internet or TV back until yesterday morning. Up to that point, I had used my cellphone's hot spot feature to get Internet access. It was slow and not ideal, but better than nothing.

Many of my coworkers (even some who never lost power) have no service from Cablevision. I lost power (it's still out) but never lost uverse. AT&T had a generator set up at the switch at the end of our street before the storm arrived. They did this with irene and the nor'easter too.

Optimum has been putting up a pop-up service box on their homepage the last couple days. According to them, only 739 CT customers are out because of an issue with Cablevision's lines/equipment.

That might be a bit off Comp. I have a generator and my cable box is showing "HOLD" for the last 72 hrs. What a joke.

Although my Cable Internet & Cable TV works, some of the TV channels are not loading tonight. TNT (with its NBA Basketball games) had audio but no video. MSNBC refused to load. ESPN didn't load (but ESPN2 did). Again, just random and stray observations.

Im on the north side of Norwalk, and we only lost power for half a day Tuesday. However, cablevision was out untill yesterday evening. Same "hold" messege on the box all week. I think they missed a few zeros on that 739 estimate.

My experience with Cablevision in this instance was good. Got power back yesterday. Emailed them via cell phone around 6 PM last night, got a reply in about an hour stating my request would be responded to within 48 hours. Service came back around 11AM today.
