Just keeping it honest.

P.S. Let me guess, you sell in S Windsor?
Evergreen Walk is a nice "lifestyle" type shopping center, which is the latest trend in retail shopping. It has a "main street" with stores on either side and on-street parking as well as large parking lots to the rear of the stores. It is very nice and not the "big box" heaven of Manchester nearby. The stores are a little more upscale too. As for the rest of South Windsor, Kara is correct that it is a very nice town with a lot of great things. Only you can judge whether the homes in your price range meets your needs or not. Jay

Evergreen is a very nice shopping center, but I agree with JViello thats its really just an extension of manchesters shopping district regardless of the type of stores that are in it. With the projected future expansion of retail and residential areas in and around Evergreen traffic will continue to prove to be an issue in this area, particularly during peak times. There are 88 homes listed in South Windsor. The ones that are under 240K are smaller ranches and/or homes on busier roads. As JayCT noted above, only you can judge whether the homes in your price range meets your needs.....

I live in Burlington. Burlington, Avon, and Farmington have the lowest mill rates, although housing is higher. The school systems in all three of these towns are very good.

If you would consider a condo, Farmington Woods (in the Unionville section of Farmington) is a BEAUTIFUL area! I wold move there in a minute iof I was in need of a condo.

You can get to Hartford in 20-30 minutes depending on the time of day.

I drive right by Farmington Woods 2-3 days a week and head up Brickhouse Rd.

My opinion? Eh, it's okay. It's right on one of the busiest roads in Farmington. RT4. Most units that are 2-3 bedrooms are priced 250-300K+

GOOD LUCK dealing with RT4 and I-84 for commuting into and from Hartford. Probably some of the worst traffic we have in the Hartford Metro.

Just another opinion...
