New Haven is more lively a city because of the colleges in the city while Springfield is much quieter because it is generally smaller with less goin on downtown. Jay

Science Center is excellent, magnet approach to education is helpful, there is a smattering of improvements but I am sorry to say that Hartford has a LONG way to go.

I do hope that UConn GHC is a game changer but look at Trinity and the surrounding neighborhood.

it's OK but yes they are overpriced and to be honest i liked Atlanta Bread better. not exactly sure what the deal was with the former restaurant that was in front of the Target on the Berlin Tpke but they completely shut down even with what had to be major traffic volume on the southbound side (plus being right near Target). Green Tea China Bistro had the same issue - great location, great food but nobody went there. always made me scratch my head especially since Joey Garlics always draws a huge crowd.

circa 2007-2008, some local developer made up plans to build a new high-tech office building on the site of channel 3 but apparently it has gone by the wayside.
can't find the article.

The plan now for the Channel 3 old Broadcast House site is a mixed use building. It would have some retail, some office space and residential above. The problem with the previous proposal was it was office only and lenders are not loaning money for that kind of development unless a significant amount of the space is preleased. That was not going to happen in this economy. Jay
