Is it worth the hype? Family wants to go there Saturday night to celebrate mine and my sisters birthdays. Checked out the menu online and seemed really expensive for regular Italian dishes (And I am not cheap by any means) but the I saw $21.95 for chicken parm for example and $23.95 for Penne Vodka.......most other places are $15-16 . Just wondering if the food is really that good to command those higher prices or are you paying for the novelty of the place? I dont mind paying more if the food is really that good. Wife and I go to Bin 100 in Milford a lot and the food there is just awesome imo. I mention that because I heard the owner of Bin 100 is related to the owner of Goodfellas. I dont know....anyone here eat there?

i can only go by the one in Uncasville (Rt 32 near the old Hostess Bakery). The family went there for my birthday over the holidays (take out) and they thought it was a bit expensive. they got 2 larges (16") - pepper and onion, pepperoni plus a large garden salad for around $45. on top of that, those who had the p&o didn't like it at all but we all thought the p'oni was pretty good. i am picky about pizza and i liked it so it wasn't all bad.

I went and was pretty unimpressed. For the price, it wasn't that great. Average typical Italian American you find all over CT, just with a nicer atmosphere and higher prices. Just my opinion.

I've had much better Italian at Skappo (probably best in the area) and L'Orcio in New Haven, and River Street Restaurant (lovely spot) and Nello's in Milford. Bin 100 is good, far superior to Goodfellas, you should try Bistro Basque too if you like that. Also, Bridge House and Beach House are a couple more standouts in Milford IMO.
