Hello,

I have work in PA on the 22nd and cannot get out until 2pm. I need to pick someone up in the Bronx, and then need to be at Mohegan Sun by 8pm for a concert.

I am wondering how the traffice along 95 is during the PM rush hour. I will be coming from the Bronx (Fordham) at around 4pm. I know traffic leaving the city will be pretty bad. I am assuming the two areas on 95 that will be congested will be both Bridgeport and New Haven. Should the 4 hours between the Bronx and Uncasville be doable at 4pm?

Thanks

Your assumption is unfortunately wrong. The worst traffic will be from Stamford all the way to Bridgeport. New Haven would be a breeze in comparison.

Some days it's not so bad, but don't count on it. You could be stuck for hours.

I would recommend taking 684 to 84 to 691, etc. to Mohegan Sun. It might be the long way, but you'll have a MUCH less stressful drive.

Would it be all back roads from 691? I am looking at a map now and I do not see a straight shot anywhere.

No all highways.

691 to 91 North to exit 25/26 (route 3). Keep left to stay onto route 3, then after the bridge stay right onto route 2 East. Take that all the way to Norwich and hop on 395 south to the Mohegan exit.

Its a long way, but less traffic and less stressful. Outside waterbury will be a backup when it merges from 4 lanes to 2, and depending on when you get to Danbury there could be traffic there, but nothing like you'd see on 95.
