I would agree with that!

Aurore, so where were you born? CT or FL? First you say you're from FL, then you say you went to high school in Avon. No assumptions here. But there seems to be deliberate vagueness on your part.

Going to high school in Avon is not the same as being from CT.

Oh but I have a life, USAisgreat. It seems like all the non-CT complainers on this board are the ones without lives. People from CT are basically awesome, and people like you aren't up to our standards, which is a fact that you seem to have trouble swallowing.

Sorry but I am pretty certain you have to be from Avon to go to its high school. Jay

Until then, telling me "I'm the real reason the state suffers" tends to sound a bit empty.

The state suffers, mostly, due to past pension obligations-- We are still paying police who retired 30 years ago, 15 years ago and are active today. It's not sustainable. Public employees need to have a retirement paid for fully by their investments and the growth of those investments, like I do.

That is a problem that had the full complaisance of both parties. Spouting off Libaughesque nonsense about liberals and attempting to erode our social safety net because it does not personally serve you is no solution. Eroding the things that make Connecticut different (I'd argue superior) like quality public education is short sighted.

Stop blaming liberals and start thinking solutions.

And don't be an a**.
The solution is less spending I keep repeating it over and over and over...

You don't employ as many people as MetLife 2000 employees are leaving the state.

Again Malloy took the pension liability out of his budget formula. We suffer because of overspending we can do something about that now but Democrats won't allow it.

Where did you get it that 2000 MetLife employees are leaving the state. I believe they are consolidating operations from several states with a total of 2000 from all of them. Jay

In my particular case, I was actually BORN and RAISED in Connecticut, however, I too dislike the general social and political atmosphere in this area of the country. My father was from the midwest, yet my mother has roots going back many generations in this area. Growing up here, I always felt somewhat out of place. I had many terribly negative experiences going to school in this state. I was forced to tolerate having mean-spirited teachers speaking doubt and discouragement into my life at a fairly young age. I was bullied throughout school for being quiet and shy, yet I was a good student grade-wise, and stayed out of trouble for the most part.

From a political perspective, I feel a strong aversion towards the limousine-liberal mentality that many seem to have in this state. Also, I believe that there is a certain unique mindset amongst many of the well-off people here, in which they look down upon working-class WHITE people, whereas they go out of there way to praise minorities, volunteer at food banks and the like in order to serve them only, regardless of the fact that many of these so-called minorities (not all, obviously - I'm not intending to sound racist) tend to resent white people, act thuggish, and are EBT/welfare leeches. So basically, from my perspective, there seems to be this strange anti-white, anti-gentile, anti-blue collar attitude held by - ironically - rich white people whom reside in this state.

In addition to that observation and personal experience, there seems to be a strong support and loyalty for Israel had by many here, despite the constant human rights violations committed by that country. Having had many negative experiences with certain Jewish people in this area (though I've also had positive experiences with them; just not nearly as many), including rude, psychologically-abusive school teachers and also doctors and landlords, I have developed a suspicion towards their general behavior and attitudes. Since they tend to have a large presence here, and also a significant influence on the politics of this state, I am generally not very fond of Connecticut for these reasons also.

You failed at your intention.

Note the irony that you can't stand the "limousine liberals" who "look down on working class whites" while you write things that are out and out racist and give yourself a pass...
