All Ruger has is a fairly small hq. They manufacture, and have the majority of their headcount, in Az. They've cut a sizeable % of staff under this executive team, based on their websites' reported numbers (yahoo financials).

Having worked in the past with several of them, it is no surprise. I'd bank on the pattern continuing.

As for this corp, they are idiots. You pick the state first, than announce. They likely just reduced what other states will offer by inverting the process.

And meanwhile a nation "at peace" continues to bury 1,000+ citizens a month due to gunshots.

Seriously, we are crazy on this topic.
Well said.

Agree, and all the arguments in favor boil down to a very unfortunately worded amendment.

Explains a lot.
I'll bite.

1) What does it explain?

2) Suppose you are a firearms manufacturerer with long standing as a successful employer. What is your most rational move? Alternatives: a) Stay in CT and continue to be targeted by punitive measures Or b) go someplace where you are welcomed and not targeted by punitive measures?

We tend to go where we're loved. CT loves "the underprivileged". As a result, CT has quite a number of them. At the same time, CT resents profit-making enterprises. It particularly resents the target du jour, or the target we can all agree to hate. Result? The tax-paying enterprise will vote with its feet, leaving its suppliers behind. Nobody with the capacity to pay the bills will stick around in a place where it is a target.

It's also a prefect excuse/opportunity for a company to move to a lower-wage (and probably nonunion) state. Hint: Southern and Western states.

Those states get some jobs and industry and, possibly, the product is a bit less expensive. Win/Win.
