Hi...

My husband and I are looking to rent a 2 BR apartment in West Hartford or Hartford (West End or Downtown). We are hoping to find something under $1200. Is there a rental "season" in the Hartford area? We have to be out of our currently place by July 1, (but are able to move out sooner) and I'm wondering if it is too early to start looking.

Also, if anyone has any advice on some of the high-rises downtown, we'd love to hear it.

Thanks!

I would start looking now to get a sense of the market. You could even contact a realtor now to discuss this. I would also look into the larger buildings downtown now. They usually know when they will have units available a couple of months before. Good luck, Jay

You will not find a 2 bedroom in downtown for $1200 or less.

Probably not in West Hartford either. I've been looking for the same. I would say 1300-1400 and your best bet is to find a place that includes heat at that price. That compromise will bring it back to budget.

My sister just moved out of a 2 bedroom in the Hartford 21. $1800 and she got a special deal through some connections she had.
