I am Looking for a house in Woodbury that was built in the 40's? A man named Myron Horn bought a house that was in our family in North Carolina. he disassembled the home and took it back to Woodbury. Or at least he was from Woodbury. Does anybody have any recollection of such a house?
I did find the house on the internet . However, it was built 1825-1828 and was bought by a Myron Horn of Woodbury, CT. Doesn't say when though.
There is no one named " Horn" who owns property in Woodbury today, per town assessor records.
You might want to call the town historical society and see if anyone knows the house. It's actually called the Old Woodbury Hisotrical Society 203-263-2595. They also have a Facebook page you could ask your question on.
It would not be difficult to find out if Myron Horn lived in Woodbury or what property or properties he might have owned. It would take all of ten minutes but you would need someone to search records in the town clerk's office for you. That would give you the address of the house & assessor's records will have a photo on the internet.
You could hire an appraiser or title searcher or maybe someone in the historical society knows someone who could do it for you.
Thank you for your response I did find a house in Greenwich , Conn that I think used a lot of the trim from the house ....thanks for your advice....will probably take you up on it...Mary
