Nice in theory, but I'm not really seeing this in practice throughout the major CT cities. Also, the vast majority of sports are not pay to play or require only a very modest outlay.

Perhaps charge admission for attending games to help defray costs? Fundraise? Seek local business sponsors. There are a lot of options but at the end of the day parents should pay for school sports. Asking all of us to foot the bill so a small percentage of the schools population can play sports should be a thing of the past.

Let the town or city decide how they want to allocate their resources. Unless Hartford is going to fund this (which they won't), the money is going to have to come from some other part of the school budget.
